NORTHPORT

Health & Safety

The nature of Northport's daily business means, bringing together a large range of people and skills in a multifaceted working environment. This can be potentially hazardous at times for untrained employees or visitors. Northport works hard to create a safe working environment through good communication and working relationships with all port users, while complying with all local and central government legislation.

The health and safety of employees, contractors and port users is considered by Northport to be an integral part of doing business. The Health and Safety at Work Act places an obligation on Northport to take all practical steps to ensure the safety of every person who enters the port environs.

The nature of our business as a port facility means that there are numerous and varying activities being carried out within the boundaries of the port. This can create risk for everyone working on site. This requires a close working partnership, with effective communication, between all port users.
