There are two wave rider buoys situated on the starboard side of the channel midway between the Fairway buoy and No.1 buoy, a special pillar buoy is centred to the north of these buoys as a guard buoy. All three buoys are light with yellow flashing light as described on chart NZ5214. Vessels must not attempt to enter/leave the channel between the Fairway Buoy and No. 1 buoy.
